Membership Questions

How do I become a member of the Pueblo Choral Society?

Individuals can join at anytime, but the best time to join would be during our annual Summer Sing in August.  To become a member, send us an email indicating your interest and we will get back to you with important information about joining.  You can also give us a call to discuss any questions you may have at (719) 681-6823.

Do I need to read music in order to join?

Having the ability to read music is very helpful in our choir. At a minimum, individuals should have a cursory ability to read notes and recognize pitches.

How do I audition?

Once you let us know that you are interested in becoming a member, we will set a time to have you audition to be a part of our choir with our Artistic Director. The general audition song we use is America The Beautiful.

How much are membership dues and costume costs?

Our annual membership is $100 due at the time of joining. There are some additional costs for costuming. Ladies are asked to purchase a skirt and a scarf (total cost averages $75). Men must have a black suit or black tuxedo with a white dress shirt. Men must purchase the cummerbund and bow tie ($15).

How do I get the music?

Once you are a member, you will be provided with the music that you need to perform and will join us for our rehearsals and concerts.

When are the rehearsals?

We rehearse most Monday evenings during the season from 6:30-9:30pm at Booth Hall, located at the First United Methodist Church at 310 W 11th St. in Pueblo. Chorale members are given a full calendar of concerts and rehearsal times at the beginning of the season or at the time of joining the choir.

How many concerts are in a season?

Our choir primarily hosts 4 concerts - one in the fall, one in December, followed by a Spring Concert and our annual Gala that wraps up the season in May.
